Google Reader

Just a quick question before I get back to my cat.  I normally read my subscription blogs via Google Reader and as you will no doubt be aware they are turning it off on 1st July.   Has anyone moved from Google Reader to another Reader?  If so which one and how easy was it.   I've used Google Takeout to bundle all my subscripts together ready to import into another reader but am finding it frustrating to do so.   I understand Feedly is a good one but it doesn't appear to do desktop readers, only mobiles.  While it would be interesting to read my blogs via my phone I don't find it easy to do so.   Theoldreader is another RSS interface that appears to use the pc to view blogs but I don't know much about it.   Has anyone got experience of moving from Google to another RSS reader?

I can read Feedly via its website on my laptop using Chrome and it links directly with Google so you sign in with Google and it automatically brings the feeds in. I quite like the look of it and may well use it if it succeeds in synching via its own server when Reader is turned off - at the moment it uses Google's feed I think. Another one I've tried is Netvibes and that seems to work ok once I got it set up as I liked it. Trouble is they're all struggling at the moment because of everyone switching!

I switched to Bloglovin and once I switched over, I could import all the blogs I follow with one mouse click. I found the sign up and switch over easy, and it's free. Hope this helps.

I've switched to Bloglovin and my son has switched to Feedly. Both are easy to switch to. I moved to Bloglovin on my own without any help of my IT techie son.

I switched to FEEDLY yesterday and it was absolutely seamless. NOW>>>Internet Explorer doesn't play nicely with Feedly...but Chrome and Firefox do wonderfully well. Switching over the list of things you follow is just a click! If you go to Linda Matthew's blog (she's an on-line fiber artist) she has a good article with all the links you'll need to get you started:http://www.linda-matthews.com/rip-google-reader/
